Dr Kate Feluś, a landscape historian, will discuss her findings on the gardens of Leaden Hall, which retain their substantially intact landscape design and rare walled kitchen garden.
Her talk will also cover the broader landscaping of the Close, much of which remains today but is reportedly “threatened by poor maintenance and apparent lack of understanding of its significance”.

Salisbury Cathedral is famous for its location and beauty, attracting more than 260,000 visitors in 2023.
The 18th-century landscaping, which created a suitable setting for the cathedral and important canonical houses, is lesser-known.
John Constable, due to his friendship with Archdeacon Fisher of Leaden Hall, created significant paintings of the Close, the Harnham Water Meadows and Leaden Hall itself.
Dr Feluś will deliver her talk on Tuesday, February 27, at the Guildhall, starting at 7.30pm.
Tickets are priced at £20, or £15 for Salisbury Cathedral Close Preservation Society members, and include drinks.
They can be purchased from ticketsource.co.uk/salisbury-cathedral-close-preservation-society.
The event is expected to offer a new perspective on the city’s cultural heritage, much of which remains intact today.
