The new data, published today by Survation and Royal Holloway University of London, reveals the ideological positions of MPs – including the Prime Minister and other party leaders.
Chris Hanretty – a professor of politics at Royal Holloway, University of London – and his team compiled the results by asking 1006 local councillors to compare their MPs and situate them against party leaders.

MPs were rated on a scale of 0 to 100, with 0 being the most leftwing and 100 being the most rightwing. Independent MPs were not included.
Labour’s Nadia Whittome and Diane Abbott are the most left-wing MPs from a major party according to the study, with a score of 4. Reform UK’s Rupert Lowe and the Conservatives’ Suella Braverman, meanwhile, are deemed to be the most right-wing, with a rating of 95.
Interestingly, Keir Starmer’s rating of 48 puts him to the right of almost his entire parliamentary party.
Kemi Badenoch is seen as one of the most right-wing MPs in parliament, with a score of 88 – just two points to the left of Farage.
Stephen Gethins is the SNP’s most left-wing MP on 26.
