The ‘Business for Good’ standard, launching on Tuesday, February 4, is the brainchild of Brevity Marketing and Destination Basingstoke’s Ambassador Community.
It aims to reward businesses that implement positive social and environmental changes to benefit Basingstoke.
The criteria for the standard include using local suppliers, paying staff the real Living Wage, pledging one per cent of profits to Basingstoke-based charities, granting staff one paid volunteer day annually, and undertaking monthly environmental challenges.

Kaia Vincent, director of Brevity Marketing, said: “We believe employers can do much more than just turn a profit.
“They can be brilliant employers to their staff, they can support local community groups, and they can reduce their environmental impact.”
The standard is part of a seven-step framework designed to help Basingstoke employers make a significant difference.
While achieving all seven steps is desirable, employers can complete five steps to qualify.

Employers meeting the criteria will be awarded a locally crafted accolade and can display a ‘Basingstoke Business for Good’ logo.
The unveiling of the standard will occur at Belvedere House, Basingstoke, with interested employers encouraged to secure their place via the Brevity Marketing website.
