New soft play centre and cafe to open in Festival Place

Basingstoke Sports Centre has announced plans to open a new soft play area and cafe after the previous facility closed on Sunday, October 20.

The new soft play are, which will feature ball pools, slides, interactive elements and a dedicated area for children under 2s, will open on Saturday, January 25.

It has been designed with a woodland-inspired theme and can accommodate up to 100 children aged up to 10 years old.

In addition to the soft play area, the Sports Centre is also preparing to open a cafe, which will be open seven days a week and offering hot and cold drinks and snacks.

The centre is currently recruiting for several roles. Available positions include catering assistant, children’s party instructor, catering supervisor, cleaning assistant, and lifeguard.

The sports centre is operated by GLL under its consumer facing brand Better.

Paul Shearman, GLL Partnership manager said: “We are extremely excited to open our new soft play area on Saturday, January 25.

“The area has capacity for 100 children up to 10 years old, with a dedicated play zone for Under 2s. It has been designed with a beautiful woodland-inspired theme, complete with slides, ball pools, interactive features and a whole host of play equipment.

“We are also opening a new caf within the soft play facility, offering hot and cold drinks and snacks, which will be open seven days a week. 

“Birthday party packages will also be available seven days per week, including an exclusive-use hire option.”
