A police Chief Superintendent has been appointed as Divisional Commander for North East Division following a retirement.
Chief Superintendent Kate Stephen has taken over from Chief Superintendent Graeme Mackie.
Chief Superintendent Kate Stephen has been appointed as Divisional Commander for North East Division.
Chief Superintendent Stephen joined Strathclyde Police in November 2000 and transferred to Grampian Police in 2007 where she worked in a range of roles, including emergency and royalty planning; CID; contact, command and control before taking up a temporary role as Divisional Commander for North East Division in 2022.
Chief Superintendent Stephen returns to the division after a period of time in the professional standards department.
On her appointment to North East Division Chief Superintendent Stephen said: “It is an honour to return to North East Division, where I have spent the majority of my career.
“The North East area is a diverse area to police and benefits from strong partnerships with other agencies and third sector organisations working hard to improve the lives of everyone within our communities.
“I look forward to building on these relationships and leading a division of hard working, committed officers, staff and volunteers.”
