Muddy Stilettos: Bewdley and Stourport best places to live

As part of the top 300 places to live in the UK, popular insider’s guide Muddy Stilettos has revealed the top 10 places to live in the county. 

From the Malvern Hills to Wyre Forest, there are plenty of beautiful areas featured on the list with some boasting thriving shop and food scenes as well as top schools. 

Bewdley features in the top 10 with its stunning riverside charm and major events running throughout the year including Bewdley Festival and the River Regatta. 

Describing the town, Muddy Stilettos said: “If riverside living is the dream then it doesn’t come prettier than in Bewdley, and it’s spot-on for fun-seekers too with the Wyre Forest and a safari park right on your doorstep.”

Muddy Stilettos added: “Bewdley is positively brimming with community spirit. 

“The Bewdley Festival is a great event in October, a community arts festival of music, talks and comedy featuring some big names in the past from Robert Plant to Benjamin Zephaniah. 

“The Bewdley Regatta is a great chance to have some fun with friends, or make some new ones, by the waterside every July.”

Stourport also featured in the top 10 with particular praise for its vibrant food and drink scene as well as its quality schools. 

Describing the town, Muddy Stilettos said: “This waterside Georgian town with a colourful marina is a big hitter for activities, heritage and picturesque views. Little wonder it’s made it back to the 2025 hot property list.”

Stourport Food Festival, S Music Festival and Astley Vineyard also got a special mention as well as a number of shops including Mooch, Bentleys and Allcocks Outdoor Store. 

Muddy Stilettos even described Stourport Carnival as giving “Notting Hill Carnival a run for its money”.
