I am looking ahead positively to 2025 and believe it is one full of opportunities for Moray and the Highlands and Islands, writes Highlands and Islands Conservative MSP Douglas Ross.
I know that times continue to be tough for many people and a look at the cases that come into my MSP mailbox confirm that.

It is fair to say that 2024 was an eventful year in which we saw a change of government in the United Kingdom.
Given the first five months under Sir Keir Starmer which have seen winter fuel payment cuts for pensioners and farmers hit with a family farm tax, many people who voted for change may well be having buyer’s remorse.
As one of your MSPs for the Highlands and Islands I am thoroughly enjoying holding the SNP government to account under our new leader Russell Findlay and raising the issues that matter to you day-in-day out.
I can also hardly believe that August marked the start of school for my eldest son Alistair and he hasn’t looked back since and before we know it his little brother James will be joining him.
I wish everyone across Moray and the Highlands and Islands all the best for 2025.
