Moray schools continue to close as pupils head home early due to wintry weather

Further early school closures have been announced amid heavy snow.

All bar two of Moray’s secondary schools are now closed – Buckie High School and Lossiemouth High remain open.

Keith Grammar, Elgin High School, Forres Academy and Milne’s High have all announced in the last hour or so that they will not be opening after lunch.

Bishopmill Primary, Linkwood Primary and Greenwards Primary in Elgin, Mosstowie Primary in Miltonduff and Applegrove Primary in Forres have both also shut.

These add to four closures announced over the course of the morning. Elgin Academy, New Elgin Primary, St Thomas Primary (Keith) and Dallas Primary had all previously announced that they would be shutting early.

Several schools in the Speyside area have been shut both today and yesterday.

Mortlach Primary, Knockando Primary, Rothes Primary, Aberlour Primary, Craigellachie Primary, Tomintoul Primary and Glenlivet Primary have all been closed both days. Speyside High School has also been shut both days.

Rothiemay Primary is also shut today.
