The Met Office has revealed the weekend weather forecast, indicating a 17°C rise between Saturday and Monday, when icy conditions are expected to ease.

On Monday, temperatures will dramatically increase, reaching 8°C by 3 p.m. and 9°C by 9 p.m.

Tuesday, January 14, will reach 12°C by 3pm, showing a 17°C temperature swing between Friday and Tuesday.

For Friday the Met Office predicts isolated freezing fog patches that will gradually clear. However, they are anticipated to return later in the day.

Most areas should remain dry with occasional patchy clouds and sunny spells, although there is a possibility of isolated coastal wintry showers.

The maximum temperature is expected to reach 4°C.

Friday night is expected to be dry and largely clear, with freezing fog patches and a widespread frost.

The minimum temperature is predicted to be -5°C.

Saturday, January 11, is predicted to have a frosty start, with patchy freezing fog that will slowly clear in most areas, resulting in largely sunny but cold conditions.

The maximum temperature will be 3°C.

Sunday, January 12, will also start with patchy freezing fog that will gradually clear, leaving sunny spells, but temperatures will remain cold.

According to the Met Office, the icy conditions should subside on Monday, January 13.

It will be mainly dry with sunny spells, becoming windy and still rather cold.

The temperatures will start to increase, reaching 9°C by 9pm.

On Tuesday, January 14, it is expected to be cloudier, mostly dry, and becoming mild.

The temperatures are predicted to reach 12°C by 3pm.

The Met Office forecast for Darlington has given more detailed predictions for the weekend.

On Saturday, January 11, the temperatures will peak at 3°C by 1pm, before dropping again later in the day.

Sunday, January 12, will remain cold, with temperatures peaking at 2°C by 3pm.
