The president, Anne Gunn, welcomed a good turnout of members to the January meeting of Spittal SWI and wished everyone a Happy New Year.
After business had been attended to, and arrangements made for a whist drive on January 31, Anne welcomed Tina Hamilton, community engagement officer with MCR Pathways.
MCR Pathways is a national mentoring charity appealing for volunteer mentors from all walks of life to inspire young people.
Tina gave an insight into becoming a mentor and passed round leaflets, while each member was given a bag and a pen. She answered many questions from the members.
Tina joined Linda Levack in judging the competitions.
