A group of three men have been jailed following a burglary at a Wrexham property.
The incident occurred at a home in Bronwylfa on Sunday, 1 December 2024.
The victims, who had returned from a holiday earlier that day, had unknowingly been followed from Manchester Airport by a car occupied by three men.
Whilst unpacking their luggage at home, the couple later saw an unknown male entering the porchway and stealing a briefcase containing cash and personal items.
Investigating officers reviewed nearby CCTV footage and witnessed two men fleeing the location at the time of the incident.
A hire vehicle driven by one of the males was subsequently identified, resulting in the arrest of three suspects on a motorway in Greater Manchester.
All three were charged three days following the incident on December 4th.
After previously pleading guilty to one count of burglary, Arturo Mendivil-Valvin, 49, of Delta Street, London; Arturo Flores-Marquez, 59, of Upper Clapton Road, London; and Jhony Ramirez-Loayza, 56, of Hemberton Road, London, were sentenced at Caernarfon Crown Court yesterday.
All received a two-year custodial sentence.
Detective Sergeant Phil Beattie said: “Mendivil-Valvin, Flores-Marquez and Ramirez-Loayza had no regard for the people they stole from as they followed them from the airport, intent on breaking into their home.
“This worrying incident left them feeling unsafe in their own home.“We recognise how invasive and traumatic it is to be a victim of burglary and welcome this sentence, which sends a clear message that organised criminals will be pursued and brought before the court.
“We hope it not only helps the victims, but also gives these men time to reflect on the harm they have caused.”
