Man taken to Basildon Hospital following crash on A127

East of England Ambulance Service have confirmed they were called to a crash on the A127 near West Horndon at 11:10am.

They confirmed they deployed one ambulance to the scene and one man was taken to hospital for further treatment.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 11.10am to a road traffic collision on the A127 near West Horndon.

“An ambulance and ambulance officer vehicle were sent to the scene.

“An adult man was transported to Basildon Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”

There is slow traffic in the area between the M25 Junction 29 Romford/Basildon and the A128 Tilbury Road Halfway House roundabout.

A driver at the scene told the Echo there are queues stretching from near Laindon all the way to the Dunton slip road.

They confirmed emergency services had attended the scene.

A spokesperson for AA road maps said: “Road blocked and slow traffic due to crash, a car and a lorry involved on A127 Southend Arterial Road Eastbound from M25 J29 (Romford / Basildon) to A128 Tilbury Road (Halfway House roundabout).”

“There are delays of seven minutes and delays easing on A127 Southend Arterial Road Eastbound between M25 J29 (Romford / Basildon) and Childerditch Hall Drive.”
