Man suffers head injury in altercation in Heron Road, Ipswich, as armed police called

A man suffered a head injury after a fight on an Ipswich estate earlier today – which saw armed officers attend.

Reports of an altercation in Heron Road, Chantry, were made to Suffolk Police at 11.10am.

When they arrived, officers found a man had suffered a cut to the head, but it is not believed to be serious.

In addition, five cars in the area had their wing mirrors damaged, which detectives believe may be related to the altercation.

However, the suspect has yet to be identified.

A spokesman for Suffolk Police said: “This is believed to be an isolated incident involving parties who are known to each other and enquiries to locate the suspect are ongoing.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident should get in touch with the Response Investigation Team via 101, quoting CAD 76 of December 31.
