Major County Durham housing scheme to unveil new house types

Miller Homes is inviting visitors to Seaham Garden Village on January 25, when they will be able to view the new house styles and have a chance to reserve their plot.

The £250 million development, which aims to promote sustainable living, is located near Durham’s heritage coastline and has been designed to accommodate 375 homes, a primary school, and a community hub.A Knightswood home (Image: Miller Homes)

The village will also have an innovation centre, while almost half of the site will be open space and landscaped areas.

The three new house types set to be released are the Newmont, the Knightswood, and the Kirkwood.

The Newmont is a two-bedroom semi-detached house, while the Knightswood is a four-bedroom semi-detached property.

The Kirkwood is a four-bedroom fully detached home.A Kirkwood home (Image: Miller Homes)

The Knightswood and the Kirkwood properties both have en-suite bathrooms and dressing areas connected to their main bedrooms.

The Kirkwood also boasts a separate laundry room, which connects to the kitchen.

All three of the new property types have kitchens with patio doors leading to the garden, as well as integral garages.

Lauren Angus, sales director at Miller Homes North East, said: “Not only are they superbly sited within a growing, multi-generational community, but the styles absolutely chime with modern living.

“Increasingly, buyers are looking for versatility from their homes, with multi-use spaces that they can adapt as their needs change or their family grows.”

“Less than half an hour drive from both Newcastle and Durham and sited on the East Coast train line, Seaham is well placed for those looking for semi-rural living and Miller Homes is confident its new phase will equal its first in terms of buyer appeal.”
