Anne Laure Beatrix, originally of Paris, France, had started working in the UK from March last year and a few months later she moved here on a visa, living on Larchfield Road in the town at the time of her death, an inquest in writing revealed.
In January this year, Ms Beatrix – a Technical Account Manager – was made redundant, but she continued living in the UK, a coroner wrote.

On May 24, Ms Beatrix contacted her GP by filling out an online form regarding anxiety and a concern that she might be becoming depressed, Reading coroner’s court was informed.
The form, known as ‘econsult’, was not responded to until May 28, the day after Ms Beatrix’s death, the inquest in writing states.
Hannah Godfrey, the area coroner for Berkshire, wrote in her findings of fact that Ms Beatrix had also contacted her mother, Agnes, who still lived in France, on May 24.
Mrs Beatrix, told the coroner her daughter had seemed ‘not right’ and said she had been worried about Ms Beatrix’s mental health.
The coroner wrote: “She had told her mother she wanted to kill herself. She sent her mother a message at around 2309 the same night titled ‘if anything happens’ and giving instructions for how to dispose of some of her property.”

“As she was concerned for her daughter’s welfare Mrs Beatrix, together with a friend, travelled from France to visit her daughter at her flat in Maidenhead.”
When they arrived, they used a key to access Ms Beatrix’s flat and found her hanged, the coroner wrote.
Police were quickly on scene and found a large one-litre bottle of gin with about a fifth missing, and a small bag described by police as a ‘self-harming kit’, Ms Godfrey wrote.

“There was no final note found, but there was a box containing letters written referring to plans to die, and the last page of her diary also indicated she was suffering and wanted to kill herself”, Ms Godfrey wrote.
Concluding the inquest, Ms Gofrey wrote: “The mechanism she used to take her life was a very effective one, not one that is often used as a cry for help and I find no evidence that this was a cry for help.
“I am satisfied that it is probable that Ms Beatrix deliberately took her own life by hanging, and that at the time she did that she intended that would be the outcome, and that it would therefore be safe for me to record a conclusion of suicide.”
