Our new MP Danny Chambers seems to be misinformed about a lot of things particularly the NHS plans for A&E in Winchester – a development that will improve care and save lives in my view and in the view of clinical experts. In fact, Mr Chambers seems to take great delight in blaming anyone he can think of, particularly the previous government and Winchester Conservatives. However, rarely is any solution offered just opposition and negativity – a strange mix when he is now our elected representative.
He is also in the dark about the proposed devolution plans for Hampshire which, as is already widely known, means the probable deferral of the county elections this May. Yet he calls on all of us to vote Lib Dem to take control of Hampshire despite some very shaky and debt-laden Lib Dems councils nearby. Step forward Eastleigh Borough Council, some £550 million in the red.
He is also misinformed about Hampshire’s financial position and says the authority has no money when nothing can be further from the truth. It’s well run despite many challenges.
Mr Chambers’ role is to help us all in Parliament in a positive way. But we hear nothing positive from him, only criticism of others – sadly a very Lib Dem trait. Wake up Danny, and try to be positive. You’re not the pretender anymore, you’re our MP. We want leadership and we expect more from you than just a constant blame game.
