The Sarah Moore pub on Elm Road will bid farewell to the town with a reggae and ska event on Saturday evening.
Will Farrell and Charley Costello, both 30, have been running the Sarah Moore since December 2022. Their lease recently came to an end as the building’s owner reportedly seeks to develop the site into flats.

“We’ve made some really good memories during our time here, especially around the big sports events such as the Euros and the boxing.”
Over the past two years, Will and Charley have grown the Sarah Moore into a go-to venue for major events and sports viewings and boast a tight-knit community of regulars.

Saturday’s event will kick off at 8pm, with music from DJ Pete Lacey.
The pub has secured a temporary event’s license, allowing it to stay open until 2am.

“I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been involved and supported us while we’ve been here. It’s been a community effort.”
According to Will the pub, which became the Sarah Moore in the 1990s, is set to be developed into residential flats.
Will said that there is still a slim chance that the couple may be able to return and reopen the pub for a short period depending on when the building’s redevelopment is set to begin.
He added: “Everyone is invited to come down on Saturday.”
