Legoland Discovery Centres across the world have launched a brand-new competition to find youngsters who are the most skilled Lego architects.
Children can enter the international competition free of charge, with judges wanting to be left in “awe” by seeing competitors demonstrate their “imagination and creativity by constructing something extraordinary.”
The judges said they are particularly interested in seeing an array of building techniques and a strong creative flare, encouraging entrants to “think outside the box and let their personality and interests shine through.”
The UK Lego Discovery Centres in Birmingham and Manchester are both joining the worldwide hunt for the best young Lego builder.
Finalists will be chosen by each local Legoland Master Model Builder, as well as Playmakers, with each Discovery Centre crowning its own Mini Master Model Builder.
Each mini local winner will then have the opportunity to have their creation displayed at the iconic Lego House in Denmark, plus receive a prize of £100 to spend in the Legoland store and a Local Annual Pass for them and their family.
The winning Mini Master Model Builder will work with the local Master Model Builder to create their final models, which will compete in the global final.
Speaking on her excitement about finding her young protégé, Birmingham’s Master Model Builder, Michelle Oakes, said: “We have many small but mighty innovators in Manchester and Birmingham, and we encourage all young Lego enthusiasts to come and participate.
“This is a unique opportunity to compete against other LEGO® lovers from around the world and be crowned the Mini Master.”
The competition is running from now until February 2.
Any youngsters who wish to enter should head down to the Legoland Discovery Centre Birmingham on January 18, 19, 25 and 26 or February 1 and 2 to take part
