ESSEX residents are encouraged to book onto a free educational programme changing lives with numeracy courses.
Multiply is designed to boost people’s confidence in maths and improve employment opportunities.
It is aimed at Essex residents aged 19 and over who may not have a GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent.
More than 8,600 residents have so far benefitted from Multiply. Courses range from managing bills, supporting children with schoolwork and achieving qualifications at work.
Multiply also offers courses for businesses looking to upskill their workforce.
Essex residents are urged to book a free course at www.essexopportunities.co.uk/multiply before the closing date of 31 March 2025.
Councillor Tony Ball, Cabinet Member for Education Excellence, Lifelong Learning and Employability at Essex County Council, said: “Multiply has delivered 7% of training nationwide with just 1.4% of the national budget, which is an outstanding achievement.
“It’s fantastic to see so many residents have taken advantage of the programme to improve their maths skills, which are vital in everyday life.
“The programme offers flexible learning opportunities so you can learn at a pace that suits you. There’s a course for everyone, from beginners to GCSE level.
“The programme will end on 31 March 2025, but there are still thousands of opportunities available. Don’t miss this great chance to learn important skills for life.”
