The Buff Ryder Cup was held at the Blacklands Bowling Club on Saturday, December 28, with 32 players from the town’s league taking part in the event.
Held in memory of late local legend Billy ‘Buff’ Reid, two charities were selected as beneficiaries ahead of the evening in his honour.
A total of £1,400 was raised and split between Megan’s Space and Ayrshire Parkinson’s Support Group – with an additional £308 donated to the North Ayrshire Darts Academy.
The event itself saw an exciting showdown between the two teams competing for the trophy – The Dart Foundation and The Dart Vaders.
After triples and doubles matches, the title destination came right down to singles fixtures, with The Dart Foundation captain Chris Lynn securing the win in his singles match to clinch the victory.

“We would like to thank everyone who came along and put their hand in their pocket and thanks once again to Laura Brown for the buffet.
“It has been a fantastic year for the league in which we have held several successful competitions as well as two league campaigns.
“A big thanks goes to the committee and all league members for their support. We will be back to do it all again and will see you all in the New Year.”
