A popular Ipswich venue is celebrating another record-breaking Christmas pantomime – as it announces this year’s show.
Over 20,000 tickets were sold for the Regent Theatre’s run of Jack and the Beanstalk between December 17 and 31.
Ipswich Borough Council has said this set a new record for attendance for the third year in a row.
Ipswich Regent Theatre has announced this year’s pantomime
The authority has announced that this year’s panto will be Cinderella, which will play between December 12 and 31, 2025.
This will be the first pantomime at the Regent after its £3.45m revamp, which was approved by planners in December.
The theatre is set to shut between May and early December next year while the work takes place.
Cllr Jane Riley, the borough council’s portfolio holder for culture and customers urged showgoers to get their tickets early.
This year will also feature a performance featuring a British Sign Language interpreter.
Cllr Riley added: “We’re excited to announce Cinderella as our 2025 pantomime following a record-breaking year for Jack and the Beanstalk.
“This will be our debut show at the newly redeveloped Ipswich Regent Theatre, and we can’t wait for audiences to see the theatre’s transformation.
“Our partnership with Enchanted Entertainment continues to deliver unforgettable productions, and we can’t wait for audiences to experience the magic, comedy, and excitement they bring to the stage once again.
“Cinderella promises to be a spectacular treat for families and theatre lovers of all ages next Christmas.”
