Ipswich cordon at Bourne Bridge lifted after ‘unexploded shell’ discovered

A cordon in Ipswich has been lifted after a possible unexploded shell was discovered.

Suffolk Police taped off a 100m radius around Bourne Bridge shortly after 3.30pm.

A spokesman for the force said the Ministry of Defence was called in and they made the device safe.

The route had reopened by 4.30pm.

The Ministry of Defence has been approached fore more details.
