An Inverness support worker is getting her dancing shoes in aid of a good cause.

Mags Young (58) is one of this year’s Strictly Inverness contestants, a competition raising funds for the Highland Hospice and Inverness Ice Centre.

Mags’ son Stefan and daughter Jade, previously took part in the annual event, and now she’s decided to be the next one in the family to take on the challenge.

To take part in the competition, contestants must hold various fundraisers whilst also undergoing intensive training to learn three dances to be performed in May.

Mags’ first event is a Scottish family evening and ceilidh for Burns Night at The Battlefield in Culloden on January 25.

Tickets cost £40, with a three-course meal and dram included.

Speaking about why she’s decided to embark in Strictly Inverness 2025, Mags said:

“My father spent a night in the Hospice, and my children’s father also passed away there.

“The Hospice do so much for so many people and I just wanted to do something to give back to it.

“Cancer touches so many people’s lives and what the Hospice does it great.”

Tickets for the Scottish family night can be purchased by contacting Mags on 07979975751 or magsyoung2811@gmail.com
