Inverness set for new Domino’s pizza takeaway under plans lodged with Highland Council

The site was formerly home to Pagazzi Lighting, and is currently used as a New Start Highland pop-up shop.

A third Domino’s pizza takeaway looks set to open in Inverness after plans were lodged for a new site in the city.

Planning permission is being sought to erect Domino’s signs on a unit in the Longman industrial estate.

The unit in question, at 2 Henderson Road, is the former home of Pagazzi Lighting and is currently occupied by a New Start Highland pop-up shop.

The building’s owner recently secured planning permission to change the use of the unit and carry out internal and externa; modifications so it could house two separate hot food takeaways.

It was unclear at the time if this change of use permission would lead to new takeaways on the site, or was simply sought by the owner to make the building attractive to a wider range of potential tenants.

But the new application for store signage connected to Domino’s appears to confirm that this conversion will go ahead, and that the site will ultimately be home to two different takeaways.

Artwork included in the application appears to confirm that Domino’s is seeking to open an outlet within the building.

It is not yet known when the building conversion will go ahead, when Domino’s will begin operations at the site, or if there is a tenant lined-up for the second of the two planned takeaways

It is also not known how many jobs might be created.

Domino’s was approached for details but said it was “unable to comment” at this time.

The chain currently operates two takeaways within Inverness – one in the city centre on Academy Street, and another on Balloan Road near to the Southern Distributor road.
