An Inverness gaming shop has shut its doors.

Ellerium Games on Lombard Street has closed after nine years as a board game, tabletop and trading card game shop, with an in-built gaming space.

Owner Jason Wilson, said a massive thank you to customers on social media after making the decision.

He said: “I would like to give a big thank you to everyone past and present that has been a part of the Ellerium community from those that helped set up, to those that helped with day-to-day running and ran special events.

“Most of all a massive thank you to the customers who attended weekly and supported the store over the last nine years. It has been amazing meeting you all and being part of your adventure in tabletop gaming.

“I hope you all managed to find a new home for future gaming. Remember there are plenty of gaming groups to join so don’t let this be the end of your tabletop journey.

“Take care, stay safe and play on.”

He also advised that people do not message previous staff members, as they have also been “hit hard by this decision.”

Alisdair Blair is looking at ways to continue the clubs for the various games and is looking at locations.

Customers have been sharing their thanks to Jason for creating the space in Inverness.

Ross Denoon said: “Thank you for all the years Jason. I spent almost every Friday as a teenager in Ellerium grinding away at magic.

“Since then I’ve met so many amazing people and gone to so many places that I never would have without your store cultivating an environment and community to sustain my ability to play the game.

“Your store provided me with lifelong friends and lifelong memories.

“You did an amazing thing in a place that really lacked it.”

Elliot Stirling added: “I know how hard you guys all tried to get this to work. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for every moment of joy I’ve had in your store. I wish you all the best in the future.”
