Inverness demonstration demands ‘Highland Council Think Again’ over visitor levy after a meeting between hospitality businesses and the council at Eden Court

Inverness saw a protest against Highland Council’s proposed visitor levy earlier today following a meeting between local authority officials and around a hundred members of the region’s hospitality sector.

Visit Inverness Loch Ness staged the meeting at Eden Court so businesses from across the region could voice their serious concerns about the visitor levy – read the full story here.

Many argued it would see a lot of small operators go bust while larger accommodation providers would see their margins shrink to the point of risking their viability.

The demonstrators marched from Eden Court to Inverness Town House with placards calling on “Highland Council Think Again” and “No Levy”.
