This event, organised by Cancer Research UK, raises funds for life-saving cancer research, and is being backed by Adele Roberts.
Anyone signing up in January can benefit from a special ‘early bird’ deal, with 50 per cent off the entry fee.
Roberts, who was successfully treated for bowel cancer in 2021, is passionate about the cause.
She said: “I Race for Life because of my little sister Lois.
“Within the space of two years, my Auntie Ann had lost our Uncle Phil to cancer and then had to go through it herself – without her husband.
“Lois wanted to do Race for Life in tribute to Auntie Ann and Uncle Phil and to give back to the organisations that had helped them.
“And she’s inspired me to do the same.”
The event will take place on Saturday, July 19.
This is one of 28 events taking place across the West Midlands region.
Participants of all ages and abilities can choose from three kilometre, five kilometre, and 10 kilometre events.
There is also a Pretty Muddy obstacle course, with a kids’ version for children aged 12 and under.
The charity’s Race for Life has been raising millions of pounds annually since it started in 1994.
Funds raised at the events help to prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer, which the charity wants to enable a move closer to a world where everyone can live longer, better lives free from the disease.
Paula Young, the charity’s spokesperson in Worcestershire, said: “No matter how cancer affects us, life is worth racing for.
“Sadly, nearly 1 in 2 of us will get cancer in our lifetime but all of us can help beat it.
“We’re proud that Race for Life has already helped double survival rates in the UK.
“Every penny raised at Race for Life truly makes a difference and powers progress.”
Since its inception 30 years ago, more than 10 million people have participated in Race for Life.
