Many woke to freezing conditions again this morning (Wednesday January 8) with cars iced over.
A yellow warning for ice is in place from the Met Office for some areas of the UK today, but temperatures are expected to rise at the weekend and into next week.
Next Monday (January 13) it is predicted to be 10°C celcius and on Tuesday January 14 up to 11°C in Kidderminster.
In the early hours of tomorrow (Thursday January 8) it is expected to go down to -4°C rising to 4°C during the day.
The Met office has issued a warning while it remains cold saying: “Plan to leave the house at least five minutes earlier than normal. Not needing to rush, reduces your risk of accidents, slips, and falls.
“If you need to make a journey on foot, try to use pavements along main roads which are likely to be less slippery. Similarly, if cycling, try and stick to main roads which are more likely to have been treated.
“Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving, or bus and train timetables, amending your travel plans if necessary.
“Be prepared for weather warnings to change: when a weather warning is issued, the Met Office recommends staying up to date with the weather forecast in your area.”
