Adventure enthusiasts are invited to enjoy a selection of films from across the globe at a two-day Horsforth film festival.
Horsforth Mountain Film Festival will take place over two days in March at Horsforth School and will raise money for a Borneo expedition in 2026.
The first of two two-hour sessions takes place on Saturday, March 1 with a selection of seven films featuring epic landscapes and adventures starting at 3pm.
The second session will start at 7.30pm on Thursday, March 6 and will feature a selection chosen to mark International Women’s Day, featuring stories of inspirational women in mountaineering and outdoor adventure.
The festival is the latest event organised by Horsforth High pupil Jack Feather, assisted in this case by dad Tom, to raise funds for a 2026 expedition to Borneo with Camps International through the school.
Whilst there Jack and his companions will be volunteering on a number of projects designed to have a significant and lasting impact on the local community as well as being immersed in the local way of life in the community, taking in the stunning scenery and taking part in a five day trek through the rainforest.
Bornean themed snacks and food will be available at the event, which is sponsored by Yorkshire Runner in Otley, who are also providing a prize for the raffle.
The headline film on the second night of the event, which organisers hope will become an annual event raising funds for other local causes and clubs in the future, is Tajikistan Ahead, which was produced by a Leeds based film maker.
The film festival is just one of several projects with a fundraising target of £3000. Other events include a sponsored bike ride, making and selling hanging baskets, gardening services, snow clearing, selling clothes on Vinted, bag packing at Morrisons and a quiz night at Horsforth Golf Club.
If you’d like to attend the film festival tickets are available on Eventbrite.
