“Both Jake and I grew up in Hockley, went to Greensward Academy and felt that there was a need in Hockley for new facilities,” said Aaron.

“All the traffic issues in the area are getting worse, and people are venturing out less. Over the last couple of years, we’ve lost Hockley-based members of our Rochford gym because the traffic is so bad,” he said.

Over the past three years, Elite Fitness 24 has won several awards for their customer service and facilities including the Echo’s Your Favourite Gym Awards 2022.

He said: “With us, customers get a group of people who actually love to own gyms.”

Aaron and Jake have been busy creating their new Hockley gym over the past few months, which now features dedicated areas for training with machines, free weights and body weight.

Its arrival in the town has been welcomed by Danielle Belton, Conservative councillor for Hockley and Ashingdon, who said: “I am over the moon to see another business open its doors in Hockley.

“It is a thriving community and independent businesses are the backbone of that – it’s great to have another.”

Expensive – The gym is stocked with high-end equipment (Image: Aaron Brindley) To celebrate the opening, Elite Fitness 24 will be running an open weekend for residents and prospective members to visit the space, train for free and meet the team.

While the gym is open 24 hours a day for members, the open weekend will run from 9am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
