A Sutherland road will be closed for more than a month for “urgent repairs”, Highland Council has warned.
Motorists have been advised that the B871 Kinbrace to Syre road will be closed for several miles, from the Garvault House access road to the Dalvina Lodge access.”
The road closure comes into force on Monday, January 20 and will remain in place until Friday, February 28.
“The closure is necessary to allow for urgent road repairs,” confirmed the council, which added that a lengthy diversion will be in place via Forsinard, Melvich, Bettyhill, Invernaver and Achargary using the A897, A836 and B873.
The closure will stretch from the access road to Garvault House to the access for Dalvina Lodge.
The exact same stretch of road was closed for a month-and-a-half just over seven years ago when the Lonigall Bridge partially collapsed.
Highland Council has not specified what the latest urgent repairs are required for. The local authority has been approached for further information.
