A West Leeds community project is looking to open a new creative space in Armley – and is asking people to help shape it.
The community space will be designed for events, workshops, exhibitions and more, offering a welcoming environment for people to connect, collaborate and create.
Affordable and accessible studio spaces to support local artists and makers could also form part of the space.
The new space is the idea of The Highrise Project, which has worked with residents across Leeds since 2019 to share stories, reduce isolation and support communities through art and technology.
The project is run by Louise Atkinson and Victoria Kortekaas and they have launched a survey where local residents and representatives from community groups can have their say.
They said: “We would like people to help us understand the need for this space, identify the facilities and features that matter most to people and develop a model that serves the whole community.”
The survey can be found here.
