“Have you checked your balls lately?” That is the question being posed by a new video determined to raise awareness of testicular cancer.
South Holland-based The Rightside Trust & Ella’s Project have teamed up with the Oddballs Foundation, which promotes male health, to launch the campaign.
Members of Spalding Water Polo Club star in the video, which was filmed at the town’s Castle Sports Centre’s swimming pool.
The online short urges men to carry out routine checks for lumps in their testicles which may be cancerous.
Clutching their water polo balls, team members ask viewers whether they have checked lately, before nurse and South Holland district councillor Mark Le Sage – a club stalwart and the man behind Ella’s Project – spells out the fact that ‘testicular cancer can be treated quickly if it’s caught early’.
“On this occasion we are very proud to be collaborating with the Oddballs Foundation and are very grateful to Spalding Water Polo club, who are the first of our local sports teams to support and help us promote our campaign,” said Coun Le Sage.
