The Gurkha Museum Trust, in collaboration with the Gurkha Brigade Association, is hosting the exhibition as part of the annual Brigade of Gurkhas photographic and video competition.
The event in Winchester, titled Through the Lens of a Gurkha, will feature the winners and runners-up of the competition.
The exhibition will be open to the public from Tuesday, January 14, until Saturday, February 1.

The exhibition will be held in the Gurkha Museum library (Image: Parsuram Budha) The Gurkha Museum Trust director, Dr Daren Bowyer, said: “Gurkha soldiers are recruited in Nepal to serve in the British Army. For over 210 years, Gurkha soldiers have loyally served this country, many making the ultimate sacrifice. It is this story The Gurkha Museum tells.
“The 2025 Winter Exhibition provides an insight into a Gurkha’s view of his world. We are proud to showcase entries of the Brigade of Gurkhas’ annual photography and video competition at their museum.”
The exhibition will be held in the Gurkha Museum library, and entry is included with admission to the museum.
Serving and retired Brigade of Gurkhas personnel, Friends of The Gurkha Museum, and children under 16 years old can enter the museum for free.

The exhibition aims to provide a unique perspective on the lives of these brave and loyal soldiers (Image: Bibas Thapa) Meghbahadur Rai, a Gurkha veteran and receptionist at the Gurkha Museum Trust, said: “I am incredibly proud to be a former Gurkha soldier and to have the opportunity to work as a receptionist at the Gurkha Museum.
“We will be hosting a special winter exhibition from 14 January to 1 February, showcasing the winners and runners-up of the annual Brigade of Gurkhas photography and video competition.
“I warmly invite everyone to visit and experience the incredible photography on display.
“It’s also a great chance to learn and understand more about the Brigade of Gurkhas and our homeland Nepal.”
The exhibition aims to provide a unique perspective on the lives of these brave and loyal soldiers, offering a glimpse into their world through their own lens.
