This growth comes as the trust marks #GivingTuesday with a heartfelt thank you to its supporters, volunteers, fundraisers and friends.
The number of volunteers supporting the Gurkha Museum Trust and Project Kaida increased from 27 to 347 in one year.
Fundraising events also surged by 75 per cent in the same period.

This growth comes as the trust marks #GivingTuesday (Image: Gurkha Museum Trust) The active membership of the Friends of the Gurkha Museum group grew by 132 per cent in 2024 alone.
The museum, located at Peninsula Barracks, Romsey Road, Winchester, has once again received full accreditation from Arts Council England, confirming its high standards of collection care.
It also won the Creative and Cultural category at the Winchester Business Awards.
Currently, the museum displays an exhibition by Army veteran and artist Kevin Wills.
It features painted portraits of all 457 British officers and soldiers killed in Afghanistan.
The Gurkha Museum Trust is also honouring the 11 Gurkha soldiers who lost their lives during Britain’s Afghanistan deployment from 2001 to 2021.
The museum invites the public to pay respects to these fallen heroes until April 1, 2025, as part of the included admission event.
