Henry Hall, who grew up in Hockley and Great Wakering, died on Saturday and his family are now inviting residents to attend a touching funeral procession on January 24.
A student at Glebe Primary School in Rayleigh, Henry was a huge fan of bright colours, rainbows and Disney princesses, and will make the journey to Pitsea Crematorium in a carriage drawn by a white horse.

Julie Gooding, councillor for Hawkwell West, has been supporting Henry’s family and helping raise awareness around his memorial.
She said: “In his short life he touched the hearts of the community and was loved by all who came into contact with him. His smile lights up the room and his sheer presence embellished the world with love.
“Our deepest sympathies go out to all of Henry’s family and loved ones.”

In December 2022 Henry’s cancer had gone into remission following privately-funded proton beam therapy in Germany. The £60,000 treatment was made possible by a generous £30,000 donation from the Essex Freemasons Community Fund.
David Barton, of the Essex Freemasons, said: “Over the past three years, the story of young Henry has deeply touched the hearts of every Essex Freemason, leaving us devastated by the tragic news of his passing. Throughout this difficult journey, the love, unwavering devotion, and incredible support shown by his family has been nothing short of remarkable and inspiring.

Henry’s life will then be celebrated at Pitsea Crematorium from 2.30pm.
There is an open invitation to anyone who would like to attend the procession or service, with bright colours requested at both.
