Grant will help upgrade charity’s kitchen facilities

AN Annan charity providing hot meals and a warm space for vulnerable and isolated people will be able to upgrade its kitchen equipment following a £750 grant from a local estate agent.

Kate’s Kitchen provides a cafe facility and meals on wheels provision to the people of Annan, as well as being an information and advice support hub offering arts and crafts and gardening activities.

Now they will be able to offer improved services to local people after securing a grant from the Fine and Country Foundation.

Kate’s Kitchen manager Helen McAnespie said: “Everyone at Kate’s Kitchen is delighted with the news of the recent donation of £750 from the Fine and Country Foundation as this will support our efforts in getting new kitchen equipment for the project in the new year.

“Support of this kind really does go such a long way in supporting small charities like Kate’s Kitchen.

“Times are difficult for some people in the current financial climate and we are really grateful for this support.

“We look forward to working with Fine and Country South Scotland in the coming months.”

The charity was nominated by Fine and Country South Scotland for the vital work it plays in uniting the local community and providing key services to vulnerable and isolated individuals.

Harriet Reid, the branch’s head of sales, said: “The work Kate’s Kitchen carries out is amazing. We are delighted to support this brilliant cause, and we are planning further fundraising activities in the coming months.”

The grant from Fine and Country Foundation was a continuation of the global estate agents’ campaign to reduce homelessness and poverty across the UK.

Fine and Country South Scotland, which offers premium properties for sale or rent across Dumfries and Galloway, donates a percentage of each completion fee to the Foundation.
