Gerwyn Price will compete in his seventh Premier League Darts campaign in 2025
Gerwyn Price has been confirmed as a competitor in this year’s Premier League Darts, where he will compete alongside the some of the biggest names in the sport.
Price, from Markham, is among the eight players taking part in the competition, which gets underway in Belfast on February 6.
The Iceman, who reached the final of the competition two years ago, will be competing in his seventh Premier League campaign.
Despite a disappointing 2024 by his standards, Price goes into this year’s Premier League having regained some form at the world darts championships, where he reached the quarter-finals.
It saw the 2021 world champion rise a place to ninth in the PDC Order of Merit.
Also taking part again this year is reigning world champion Luke Littler, and 2024 world champion Luke Humphries.
Former world champions Michael van Gerwen and Rob Cross are also involved, as is Nathan Aspinall.
The only changes from last year’s lineup see Stephen Bunting and the man who knocked Price out of the world championships – Chris Dobey – replace Peter Wright and Michael Smith.
The Premier League will see the eight stars contesting 16 mini-events during the season, with each league night comprising quarter-finals, semi-finals and a final over the best of 11 legs.
Points will be awarded each night to form the league table, from which the top four players will progress to the playoffs, which will be held at The O2 in London on Thursday May 29.
Cardiff’s Utilita Arena will play host to Night Seven on Thursday March 20.
