The Tabletop Tavern opened its new home in Catherine Street on Saturday, January 3.
The games venue, which was previously located on the top floor of Live Escape Rooms in Cross Keys Shopping Centre, offers a space for people to play fantasy games such as Dungeons and Dragons, Warhammer, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokémon and other trading card games, plus classic board games.

“The grand opening of The Tabletop Tavern was an incredible success—queues down the street, a packed tavern, and an amazing community coming together for a night to remember. Thank you to everyone who made it so special!
“Here’s to many more epic adventures ahead!”
As previously reported, the business is run by co-owners Brad Bloomfield, 30, and Marnie Chambers, 26, as well as shareholder Kieran Rundle, 26.
Brad said: “We will be offering a themed hospitality venue where you can come and enjoy board games.
“There will be a Dungeons and Dragons space – a place where you can hire out a table and play as much as you want while we wait on you, providing beers, ales, meads and wines.

A Magic: The Gathering game in progress (Image: Spencer Mulholland) “At the back of the room, there will be a private space which will be open to the public and can be hired if you want to host a private event in there.
“A lot of players who play Dungeons and Dragons and other table-top role-playing games want an isolated environment so they can express themselves freely.”
