Two online fundraising have been set up to help the residents whose homes in Holbeach had been destroyed following the blaze, which is reported to have been sparked by firework.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue say an investigation is underway to find out what caused the blazed at the homes in Hallgate, Holbeach.

Five fire engines were called to the area just after midnight on January 1.

A spokesman said: “Five fire engines attended. No injuries were reported but one house was destroyed by the fire. The first floor and roof of an adjoining property were also damaged.

Emily Ward has raised £6,569 within 24 hours of setting up the page to support her brother.

Her gofundme Page states: “What a start to the new year.

“My poor brother and his family have lost their entire home due to a firework causing their house to catch fire. They have literally lost everything, all they have is the pjs they had on as they escaped the burning building.

“My 10-year-old niece has lost everything she got for Christmas – imagine that as a kid.

“We would appreciate any help to get them some clothes, essentials and help mollie get some toys etc.”

Another page has been set up by Kane Portass which has generated £3,038.

His post states: “I am raising money for my friend Jayden Nightingale who lost his house in Holbeach and all his belongings to a fire caused by a firework whilst he was away on NYE.

“He has lost everything he has worked so hard for, any donations would be much appreciated.”

Collections have also been taking place locally for clothing.
