New Year’s Day flooding has devastated part of Warrington, causing around 140 people to evacuate their homes.
But it’s not just humans that have been hit by the severe flooding, as the extreme weather has destroyed the stables where nine horses are kept.
At 4am on New Year’s Eve, the horses were evacuated from the lower stables when the flooding hit but are now in the upper stables and left with nowhere else to evacuate to.

Sadly, nearly all of the chickens kept at the stables drowned in the flooding.
The barn has been ruined by the flooding, and plenty of food, blankets and supplies have been damaged.
In an attempt to help recover from the losses, Martyna Bartosz has launched a fundraising campaign.
“Our stable was severely flooded, causing devastating damage to everything we use to care for our horses,” she said.
“The hay, feed, bedding, and all necessary supplies for the horses have been ruined. The entire barn is damaged, and we’re facing significant losses.

“We’ve worked hard to provide a safe and comfortable environment for our horses, but now, we need your help to rebuild and restock everything that was lost.
“Every contribution, no matter how small, will go directly towards replacing hay, feed, bedding, and repairing the barn to ensure our horses are taken care of.”
The fundraiser, which has a goal of £3,000, has already raised nearly £200 since it launched this afternoon, Thursday.
