Sandbags have also been delivered to homes in Bewsey and Dallam that are at risk of flooding from Sankey Brook.
Areas close to Sankey Brook are currently the subject of a flood warning, which states that ‘flooding is expected’, and urges residents to ‘act now’,
The alert states: “River levels remain high this evening, Monday, but they are expected to fall in the morning.
“Flooding is forecast to affect locations near Sankey Brook, with low-lying land and roads expected to be most affected.
“This is particularly around Chepstow Close, Colwyn Close, Higham Avenue, Tavlin Avenue, Hodgkinson Avenue, Marshall Avenue, Hawleys Lane and Mullen Close.
“We are closely monitoring the situation.

“Avoid using low-lying footpaths and any bridges near watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.”
Other areas of Dallam, Callands, Gemini, Orford, Longford, Sankey Bridges, Penketh, Sankey and Burtonwood are under a less-severe flood alert, stating that flooding is possible’, and urging residents to ‘be prepared’.
The alert states: “River levels remain high, further rainfall is expected, but levels will continue to fall overnight.
“Flooding is forecast to affect locations near Sankey Brook, with low-lying land and roads expected to be most affected.
“This is particularly around low-lying land and roads around Black, Barkers, Windle and Whittle brooks and their tributaries.”
Further flood alerts are in place for Heatley and Warburton for the River Mersey and River Bollin.
