After months of judging by mystery diners, the eateries were assessed on a range of metrics, including food quality, cleanliness, staff expertise, value for money, ease of ordering, and social media presence.
Only the establishments with the highest scores were awarded with the pass mark this year being 96% or above.
Five Scottish chippies named among the best in the whole of the UK at prestigious awards
The Garioch Fish Bar in Inverurie, Redclock Fish Bar in Stonehaven, Quintilliani’s in Larkhall, Sea Salt + Sole in Aberdeen and the Café Royal in Annan were named among the best fish and chip takeaways in the whole of the UK.
Catch in Giffnock was also the only Scottish establishment named in the best restaurants category.
