The Ship Inn in Limekilns is said to be the pub featured in the novel Kidnapped where David Balfour and Alan Breck visited before they crossed the Forth in a rowing boat in the fiction by the famous Scottish author.
The 200 year-old premises include a ground-floor restaurant and living accommodation at the rear of the building and on the upper floors.
The owners’ living accommodation attached to the pub is described by the selling agent as “highly unusual” for a business of this type with four bedrooms and three bathrooms.
