Fife Police Dog Oz retires after six years of fighting crime

PD Oz spent six years – or 42 in dog years – on the force and assisted in everything from catching suspects to tracking down missing and vulnerable people.

Now, after a fruitful career, the legendary, carrot-loving hound is heading home for an adventure-filled retirement with his handler.

Police Scotland said: “A true legend has hung up his lead for the last time. PD Oz has had an exemplary career; locating countless missing persons and assisting the divisions of Scotland in bringing offenders to justice.

“Oz will retire to his handler, who has many a retirement adventure planned for this special boy.

“Everyone at Police Scotland would like to wish Oz a long and happy retirement. Thankyou for your service!”
