Fife businesses attend Amazon Innovation Accelerator

The initiative, being trialed in six UK locations, provides free training and insights into Amazon’s UK operations.

Participants from Fife included McDonald Water Storage and The Cress Company.

They received training from Amazon leaders, site tours, and technology demonstrations, plus virtual masterclasses on fostering innovation.

Amazon’s UK regional director, Neil Travis, said: “Our aim with the Amazon Innovation Accelerator is to support UK businesses to grow and create a culture of innovation within their own organisations.”

McDonald Water Storage, a leading manufacturer of hot water systems, attended to gain insight into Amazon’s innovation practices.

They found the event helpful for their plans to digitise and increase turnover.

David Stewart from the company said: “I definitely took methods we can use away with me too.”

The Cress Company, a distributor of speciality foods, also attended to learn about structuring processes for proactive growth.

Rodger Caldwell, operations manager said: “We’re toying with the idea of having even a small group of people meeting regularly to discuss how we can be constantly changing and innovating.

“I’d really recommend the programme to businesses looking to innovate as they scale.”
