Festive message from West of Scotland Labour MSP Neil Bibby

AS people in North Ayrshire and across Scotland enjoy the festive season, I would like to wish all readers a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

I know many of you will be enjoying a well-earned break after what will have been another busy year.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank those who are still out working hard to support people in our communities throughout the festive season.

Our emergency service and armed forces personnel are continuing their year-round work to keep us safe so that we can spend time with friends and family, and they deserve our utmost respect.

Many local shopworkers, hospitality staff, postal workers, delivery drivers and more are also still going – and only by their efforts can we continue to enjoy the festivities.

This time of year serves as a reminder of the importance of sticking together and looking after each other.

The festive season can be a lonely time for lots of us, especially those who are not able to spend it with loved ones.

If you know of anyone who could be in this position, it may be nice to check in on them to make sure they are doing okay.

It is also important, however, that we do not lose this feeling of togetherness as we move ahead into 2025.

And in this spirit, I will continue to do all I possibly can for people in North Ayrshire to make next year the best it can be.
