Flooding and landslides have wiped out all rail services between Inverness and Wick/Thurso until Saturday morning at the earliest.
With today’s journeys on the Far North Line already cancelled, Scotrail has now revealed that no trains will run tomorrow either.

Engineering teams will work to make the line safe through Friday and through the might into Saturday January 4, with the earliest likely resumption of services on the route estimated at 11 am that day.
Most services covering the entire length of the line will have replacement buses in operation, but shorter commuter services will not.
Customers are being advised to check the rail operator’s website here for details before travelling.
Flooding on the Inverness to Kyle line has also caused cancellations this evening, but Scotrail say replacement buses will only journey between Inverness and Dingwall given road conditions
