Essex weather this weekend for Southend and Basildon

Both Saturday and Sunday look set to be dry with patches of periods of mist at the start and end of each day. Both days are expected to see bursts of sunshine, the temperature will hover between two and four degrees – a move away from the recent cold snap.

Saturday will start out misty, with sun appearing by late morning in both Southend and Basildon, while Sunday will begin cloudy before changing to sunny intervals in the late morning.

While rain is unlikely to fall over the weekend, humidity levels will be fairly high at some points, with Southend seeing humidity highs of 99 per cent on Saturday evening. 

Comparing Saturday and Sunday, while both offer crisp and pleasant winter weather, that looks free from rain, Saturday will be a slightly milder situation.

Temperatures across the region will remain around the seasonal average on Saturday and Sunday, marking a change from the freezing temperatures experienced over the last few weeks. 

This weekend should provide a good snapshot of typical January conditions.
