Two worth winners were named as prize recipients on December 28 when the club held their Christmas party night at Kilwinning Community Sports Club.
Amy Hood was praised for her contributions to the event as she was named volunteer of the year for 2024.
Described as “loving a bit of tourist park-running”, Amy has completed events on 34 occasions this year.
She has taken on 23 other courses during 2024, though has still found time to complete each of her 16 volunteer stints at Eglinton Park.
Her dedication was hailed by organisers who said Amy is always one of the first to answer a late call for help.
An Eglinton parkrun spokesperson said: “Despite the fact we don’t see Amy every week at Eglinton she always returns to her home parkrun.
“This year Amy has completed every one of her 16 volunteer stints at Eglinton. She is often the first one to respond to a late in the week plea for volunteers to allow our event to go ahead and has covered roles ranging from barcode scanner to finish tokens to timekeeper this year.
“Well done Amy, we are all very proud of you!”
Stuart Moffat was the next person to receive acclaim as he was announced as park-runner of the year.
Stuart has run in 31 events and volunteered 12 times this year with roles ranging from marshal and pacer to timekeeper.
“He even stepped into the run director role during a local group’s takeover,” a spokesperson added.
“Stuart is always enthusiastic and encouraging to our parkrun community and always ready with a cheery hello and smile.
“He was clearly so chuffed with his award on Saturday that he ran one of his best times this year – well done Stuart, we are all very proud of you!”
